Once a Marine always a Marine (no such thing as a former Marine)
|
Commandant, John A Lejeune in 1923 and chartered by Act of Congress on
August 4 1937. The Marine Corps League perpetuates the traditions and
spirit of ALL Marines who proudly wear or who have worn the eagle, globe
and anchor of the Corps.
Membership is comprised of honorably discharged, active duty, and reserve
Marines with 90 days of service or more, and retired Marines. It includes
officer, enlisted, male and female members, FMF Corpsman and Associate
Members.
The Marine Corps League Auxiliary
are the Wives, Widows, Mothers, Step Mothers, Sisters, Daughters Step
Daughters, Grandmothers, Granddaughters, and Daughters-in law (not less
than 16 years of age) of a Marine or FMF Corpsman eligible to belong to the
Marine Corps League and Women Marines (former, active and reserve) and
Associate Members.
Marines and their families continue to serve their country and community. Many volunteer at VA hospitals and contribute to many community projects. They also aid safe houses for battered wives and children, support Toys for Tots, and continue to support our troops and their families.
